Can Canva animate a line graph?
It can animate the graph’s entrance with Animate, but the line doesn’t draw itself from the data. Use an animated line chart tool for that.

How to animate a chart in Canva
Canva’s Bar race chart animates from data; its other charts animate with entrance effects. Here’s how to use both and download the result as a video.
In Canva, add a chart from Elements → Charts, enter your data, then select the chart and click Animate to give it an entrance effect. For a chart that actually moves with the data, add a Bar race chart, which plays through your periods. Download the design as a video with Share → Download and a file type of MP4 Video or GIF.
Apart from the bar race, Canva’s chart animations are general-purpose entrances (the chart slides, fades or rises in as a whole). If you want lines that draw themselves, pies that morph between years, counters or a transparent overlay, the tool at the top of this page animates those from your data, free and without an account.
Animate a chart in Canva
Add a chart
In the editor open Elements, go to Charts and pick a chart type, or search for Bar race chart.
Enter the data
Select the chart and edit its data: type it, paste it, or import a CSV, TSV or XLSX file.
Animate it
With the chart selected, click Animate on the toolbar and choose an effect on the Element tab (or animate the whole page on the Page tab). A Bar race chart animates by itself; set its playback speed in its settings.
Download a video
Click Share → Download, choose MP4 Video (or GIF) as the file type, pick the quality and download.
Canva’s bar race chart
The Bar race chart takes a label column, a time column and a value column, and plays the race on the page, with settings for playback speed, the number of bars shown and looping. It’s the one Canva chart whose animation is driven by the data.
What’s free
Canva’s help pages say free accounts can download MP4 video up to 1080p and GIFs up to 720p; 4K MP4 and longer videos need a paid plan, and some animation styles are paid. Premium elements carry a watermark until licensed.
Charts Canva doesn’t animate from data
